Martin Føre

Martin Føre covered "Precision farming, AI and big data" on Tuesday, May 12 at 14:00 (CET/Brussels time).

Martin Føre is currently working as an associate professor at the Department of Engineering Cybernetics, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), from which he graduated with a MSc. in 2006 and later a Ph.D. in 2011, both within individual based modelling and monitoring of fish in sea-cages.
While taking his Ph.D. he was working part time at SINTEF, and following his Ph.D. defense, he stayed at SINTEF as a research scientist for 8 years, before returning to the university in 2019.
His main research area is the application of cybernetic methods (e.g. instrumentation, control theory, modelling, simulation and estimation) to challenges in the aquaculture industry. Some of the highlights of his research career thus far are his work on fish modelling and his role in defining the Precision Fish Farming (PFF) concept.

Martin talk focused on the application of methods within Precision farming, AI and big data in intensive aquaculture. He gave a brief introduction to the scope and focus of his talk, an account of the status in these areas by outlining examples of current applications within both industry and research.
