Presentation outline:
The presentation will guide the audience through our history as a start-up company. Norwegian Lobster Farm AS celebrated 20-year anniversary in 2020. 20 years with unbelievable ups- and downs and a very steep learning curve only the toughest can handle. The last 2 decades has been full of unforeseen events calling for extreme mitigating measures. While learning the unknown prerequisites for land-based RAS lobster aquaculture, we faced most challenges including biological, technical, and economic risk elements, global financial crisis, a devastating fire and being close to bankruptcy several times. In-between the challenges we have also achieved tremendous success reaching semi-commercial production volumes, penetrating the markets with success, publicity in many European gourmet magazines, served lobsters to high-end Michelin restaurants, and celebrities like Ministers from the Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal affairs, their Majesties King and Queen of Norway and TV celebrities. We have hatched and produced lobsters in Norway, in artificial seawater in Spain and heated seawater from geothermal sources on Iceland. It has been a fight for success, and the aquapreneurs in the company has proven a stayer ability, risk tolerance and stubbornness with faith in the company concept one rarely sees. Hope you will enjoy the presentation of a concept rooted in a true value-chain innovation. The company is now stronger than ever, the future is ahead of us and we are now close to a commercial launch.
