Student Representative on the EAS Board of Directors
The Student Representative on the EAS Board of Directors plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between students and the European Aquaculture Society (EAS). This position is designed to ensure that the voices and concerns of students in aquaculture are effectively represented and addressed at the highest levels of the organization.

- Advocacy and Representation: The Student Representative advocates for the needs and interests of the student community within EAS. They ensure that student perspectives are included in discussions and decision-making processes, bringing forward issues and suggestions that are important to the student body.

Silvia Natale, Student Representative
Silvia's Brief biography
I am a PhD candidate in aquaculture, passionate about advancing sustainable practices in the field. My research aims to investigate the effects of a set of biodiversity-friendly aquafeed formulations on grey mullet. The project aims to increase our knowledge on low trophic species production in aquaculture by identifying management and feeding strategies that can improve production performance, animal welfare, and reduce the environmental impact of aquaculture farming.
Goals as a Student Representative:
As a student representative, I am committed to fostering a collaborative and dynamic environment that supports the personal, academic, and professional development of students while driving progress in the sustainable aquaculture sector. Together with the national coordinators, I will continue to organize targeted workshops and networking events that create opportunities for dialogue and collaboration on new research and key topics relevant to our field. These initiatives not only promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences but also create valuable opportunities for professional growth while fostering innovation.
I firmly believe that communication is the key to broadening and diversifying knowledge, creating a research environment that grows through mutual collaboration.
