As the aquaculture industry faces increasing pressure to optimize resource use and minimize environmental impact, recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) offer a sustainable solution. One key challenge is the efficient use of trace minerals (TM) in aqua feeds, as excess excretion into natural waters can affect water quality and lead to regulatory restrictions.
On March 25, 2025, Dr. Cláudia Figueiredo-Silva delivered an insightful EAStalk webinar that explored strategies to improve TM retention and reduce excretion in fish production. The session focused on how TM sources and water refreshment levels influence TM utilization, providing valuable insights into feed formulation and sustainable aquaculture practices.
Dr. Figueiredo-Silva’s presentation highlighted innovative approaches to enhancing feed efficiency while supporting environmental sustainability in aquaculture.
Zinpro, a Corporate Member of the European Aquaculture Society (EAS), made the most of its membership benefits by presenting this informative EAStalk webinar.
